The Buffalo Bills own a slight advantage in their all-time series against the Kansas City Chiefs, as they have posted a 26-23-1 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the postseason. Kansas City has had the upper hand of late, winning five of the last six meetings, including last year’s AFC Championship Game.
Chiefs vs Bills
Date: Sunday, October 10, 2021, Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
Location: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City
The Chiefs will look to continue their recent dominance when they host the Bills on Sunday Night Football. Kansas City (2-2) is coming off a 42-30 victory at Philadelphia, while Buffalo (3-1) demolished Houston 40-0 in Week 4 for its third consecutive victory.
They’ll have their hands full with the Chiefs again, though. Not only is Mahomes playing at a high level after throwing five touchdown passes against the Eagles, so is Tyreek Hill (three of the TD catches), tight end Travis Kelce and running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who is coming off back-to-back 100-yard rushing performances.
For Week 4’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, all of Arrowhead Pride’s contributors picked the Chiefs to win. Although it carried 14 points of error when compared to the 42-30 final, our composite prediction of a 36-23 Kansas City win called the point spread almost perfectly. Like us, most of our readers thought the Chiefs would win — almost three-quarters thought it would be at least an easy victory — but 8% thought the Eagles would take the game.
Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense certainly can expect to put up some points on Sunday. Kansas City’s defense was picked apart by Justin Herbert, and at 1,167 passing yards allowed, it has already surrendered the seventh-most passing yards this season. Its rushing defense hasn’t been any better as it has allowed 584 yards on the ground, the fourth-most of any team this season.
The model knows Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes leads the NFL with 14 touchdown passes after hurling five against the Eagles in Week 4. The Chiefs rank second in the league in total offense (427.5 yards) behind the 26-year-old, who is fifth with 1,218 passing yards. Kansas City has scored at least 33 points in three of its four games and is tied for second in the NFL with an average of 33.5 per contest.

However, defensive performance is often a product of the opposing team’s offense, and more importantly, the opposing quarterback — and Buffalo hasn’t faced many impressive offenses. I wouldn’t expect the Bills to post their third shutout of the season in Week 5.
Now, the model has set its sights on Chiefs vs. Bills. We can tell you it is leaning Under, and it also says one side of the spread hits nearly 60 percent of the time! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NFL picks.
