Browns vs Broncos are both on losing streaks heading into their Week 7 matchup on Thursday Night Football. The Browns were defeated by the Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals in consecutive weeks, while the Broncos started the season off 3-0 before dropping three straight. This primetime showdown is crucial for each team as they attempt to salvage their respective seasons. The Browns will be without quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) and running backs Nick Chubb (calf) and Kareem Hunt (calf).

Based on what the Broncos offensive and defensive lines just looked like against the Raiders, I don’t have high hopes for Thursday night. Garett Bolles and Bobby Massie will attempt to block Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney. And while Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are out, that’s still a good offensive line that will face a defense that is without its top two linebackers. I want to give Fangio and this Broncos team the benefit of the doubt, but he just got outcoached by a team that didn’t have a head coach.

As for Keenum, he last started a game in 2019 with Washington, where he threw for 1,707 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions in eight starts. He is familiar with head coach Kevin Stefanski from their time together in Minnesota in 2017, which is nice, but will have his hands full with an offense that is dealing with so many injuries.

With Mayfield, Chubb and Hunt — as well as linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (ankle) — Cleveland is also monitoring the health of offensive tackles Jedrick Wills Jr. (ankle) and Jack Conklin (knee), as well as wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (shoulder). The Broncos, meanwhile, have listed their own starting quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, questionable for the contest due to a foot injury.

Browns vs Broncos Injury report:

Browns – Questionable: wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (shoulder), right tackle Jack Conklin (knee), left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. (ankle), defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (ankle/chest/knee), defensive tackle Malik Jackson (knee), linebacker Malcolm Smith (abdomen), center JC Tretter (knee) and linebacker Mack Wilson (calf). Out: quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder), running back Nick Chubb (calf) and cornerback A.J. Green (shoulder/groin).

Broncos – Questionable: quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (foot/quad), tackle Garett Bolles (knee) and safety Caden Sterns (illness). Out: linebacker Baron Browning (concussion) and outside linebacker Aaron Patrick (ankle).

If Bridgewater is unable to go, Drew Lock would get the start in his place. Bolles’ backup is listed as Calvin Anderson but Cameron Fleming could also flip over to the left side in his place.

But once the game kicks off, all that matters will be the Browns players on the field for Thursday Night Football — their first of three scheduled prime-time games this season. Cleveland is looking to snap a two-game losing streak where it has surrendered 84 points to the Chargers and Cardinals. The 37-14 loss to Arizona on Sunday also cost the Browns several players to injury, notably Mayfield, Hunt and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

If sure seems that way for the Broncos (3-3) and Browns (3-3), both of whom come into the game with major injury issues, notably to Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is out with a shoulder injury, and Denver’s Teddy Bridgewater, dealing with foot and quadriceps issues.

As previously alluded, the line has dropped since its opening in favor of Cleveland as a 6-point home favorite over Denver at SI Sportsbook to now displaying the Broncos as only 2.5-point road underdogs. The total, which opened at 44, has begun to see significant action to the under, dropping the line down to 41.
